Since its inception in 1990, Brookview House has received more than $1 million in annual gifts from foundations, corporations, community groups, and individuals. With the guidance of the Board, Finance Committee, and Executive Director, we have successfully weathered a changing economy, doubled our staff over a five year period and continually improved the efficiency with which we deliver services.

Individuals provide the unrestricted support needed for Brookview to make critical program decisions that augment our contract and grant support. 83¢ out of every dollar Brookview House raises goes directly to serving homeless and low-income families.

Brookview House sustains mortgages and operating costs for two properties: twelve two to three bedroom transitional housing units in Dorchester and twelve affordable rental apartments in Roxbury.

Further evidence of Brookview's strong financial management is evidenced by:

  1. Revenues almost doubled over the past five years
  2. A liquidity ratio of 3.4 for the year ending September 30, 2004
  3. Successfully carrying out a $1.7 million capital campaign As we meet the needs of an increasing population of homeless families, we will continue to use sound fiscal judgment to gain increased financial stability.
