Deborah Hughes, M.Ed., has served as the Executive Director since 1993 bringing more than 15 years management and development experience in the nonprofit sector to the position. She has been working with Brookview House, Inc. since its formative stages, beginning in January 1991 as consultant on program development, financial management, and fundraising. Ms. Hughes was instrumental in development of the Roxbury Community College Foundation, serving five years as the Co-Director. She has held senior level development positions at the Jane Doe Safety Fund, American Red Cross, and American Cancer Society. Ms. Hughes serves on the Executive Committee and is a founding member of the Transition to Work Collaborative, serves on the Visioning Committee of Dorchester CARES, and is a founding member of the Communitas Education & Training Institute. Valina Jackson, M.A. holds a degree from Lesley University in Clinical Counseling Psychology. Ms. Jackson has over 20 years experience in the Human Development field. Her many roles have included teacher, trainer, employment counselor, manager, and chief executive. Ms. Jackson served as Executive Director of the Boston Workforce Development Coalition, a citywide advocacy and public policy coalition of over 50 human service agencies. She also served as the Manager of Education and Training for the Urban League of Eastern Mass where she established its flagship Employment Resource Center. Carole Allen Scannell graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Communication. She has raised over $10 million in funds for small non-profits and promoted organizations including Jane Doe, Inc., Women Express, Inc. (publisher of Teen Voices) and the Fayerweather Street School. Ms. Allen Scannell came to Brookview House with over fifteen years of management service in the social justice arena. She serves on the Teaching Tolerance Leadership Council of the Southern Poverty Law Center and is a member of Women in Development of Greater Boston. Director of Finance & Administration
Jayne Murphy, M.B.A. is a senior financial manager with over 18 years experience in the behavioral health care industry. She possesses cross-functional competencies in accounting, information systems and project management. Ms. Murphy has solid interpersonal skills with the ability to foster effective team relationships across departments coupled with strong leadership skills. She is highly effective in reorganizing, streamlining, and strengthening administrative operations to maximize performance and cost savings. | |
