The Brookview Approach

The Brookview House Approach
Putting the “Puzzle Pieces” Together

In Massachusetts, more than 600,000 people live below the poverty line and an estimated 11,000 families will become homeless this year according to recent census data. Since 1990, The Brookview House has helped homeless families develop the skills necessary to break the cycle of poverty.

Brookview House assists families and provides a suite of services that is unique among homeless shelters and agencies in Greater Boston. We offer a holistic array of family-oriented services in addition to temporary housing. We provide strategically-aligned services, such as housing support, youth development programs, education and training, and counseling, to foster independence. Click here for more information on these services. We are also the only agency in the Greater Boston area to accept teenage boys with their families and thereby keep families intact. Residents living at Brookview House have the time they need to re-start their lives. Ultimately, the Brookview House does not simply meet the immediate need for shelter, but also gives our residents the time and support to put all of the “puzzle pieces” in their lives together.

The Brookview House has an impressive record of success. Click the links on the left for more information and stories on how successful Brookview House is in breaking the cycle of poverty and moving nearly 500 families into permanent housing and self sufficiency.
